Is that the new Thing, or the 80's version? I really liked that; but I don't think I'd hate a remake.

As for Alien Resurrection - I'm a fan of all the Alien films, been a fan since I first saw Alien at 16/17. I didn't want Ripley's story to end as it did in Alien 3, and although it didn't match Alien or Aliens (for me), I found it satisfying that Ellen Ripley became almost as dangerous as the creatures she had fought. (:

I was around on the 'net to see Avatar get panned, but I thought the planet and Naa'vi (?) were beautiful, regardless, and would like to see a series like The Blue Planet (narrated by David Attenborough) set on Pandora.

The only thing that matters to me when I read a book or watch a film is if I enjoy it. People seem to spend a lot of time arguing about things they don't like; I don't. It's squee or silence from me (:

The Thing (2011) wasn't a remake but a prequel. It has its flaws but overall I enjoyed it. Plus, Joel Edgerton. <3

Oh, a prequel! I'll watch it, then, flaws regardless! (: My partner asked me if I wanted to watch it, and I said no as I thought it was a remake, but truthfully because the 80's film gave me panic attacks. :D

I kinda like to pretend that Alien 3/Resurrection happened in an AU, because I prefer hopeful endings. :P But I liked a lot of things about Alien Resurrection! The action scenes were fun, Sigourney was amazing, and the whole salvage crew were totally Joss' proto-Firefly. All the characters are there, just in slightly different form and with Ron Perlman. 8D
