(Anonymous) 2012-10-06 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)TMI: 3.1% of childhood abuse cases are reported as sexual in nature in Japan. Which divided by the overall abuse cases physical, emotional and sexual (numbers from 2006) comes out of about 1320/year. However, Japanese culture is even less open about reporting abuse than the US - although it's getting better - so I don't know how accurate those numbers are to the real number of cases. And I'm just putting this here in case anyone wanders in to say how it promotes abuse.
I can also point people to studies of Denmark and Japan that say pornography does not mean an increase in sexual deviance. Yay human sexuality class?
