Holy shit, the type of clueless privileged people make me want to find their IP addresses, hunt them down, and break their kneecaps. Give them a little taste of what it feels like to be helpless. That sounds awful, I know, but people being so willfully ignorant like that is just as harmful as being in the situation in the first place.

I can commiserate. I got sick one summer and lost about 20 lbs because I couldn't eat (although ironically, we had a pretty good food supply at the time). But I didn't have health insurance or access to medical care, so I basically just had to come out of it by myself.
