The presence of The Last Airbender in this secret makes me wonder if OP is trolling. Of the other movies that I've seen, none has been great cinema, but each of them has had its good points. TLA is a complete shitstorm, though, and not just in my opinion; I don't think I've seen a single positive review (professional, fannish, anything) of that film.

IA

I could believe every other movie in the list except that one.

what are the good points of Phantom Menace

what is one single solitary good point of that movie

(Anonymous) 2012-10-07 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Liam Neeson? He's the only reason I watch it. :|

Pod racing.

Double-sided/bladed lightsaber.

Also: young(ish) Ewan McGregor.

Liam Neeson. Ewan McGreggor. Pod racing. Natalie Portman. Queen Amidala. I really liked her plot (until II happened). Liam Neeson. Double edged lightsabers. Cool special effects. The fight at the end. The music. Liam Neeson.

It was fucking great and it got me into Star Wars. Sorry you can't accept that.

Yes, all this. I also liked Qui-Gon's and Obi-Wan's relationship (though they were my first slash ship, so I might be viewing their on-screen interactions through a haze of nostalgia), Darth Maul, Anakin's backstory (until II happened :P ), and Samuel L. Jackson's small but awesome role as Mace Windu.

Agree with you anon. I think there are some actors in there who can act in other things, but it's all bad in that film, well in all three. From the inside gossip I've heard the actors were losing the will to live and George Lucas was just not good. Even publicly Ewan McGregor says all he ever had to do was walk into rooms and look up.

Liam Neeson. There you go, the single solitary (sexy) point.

Not the OP

I'm obviously not the OP, but just to give them some credibility, I can say something nice about TLA. I personally found the elements moving (bending) CGI to be really pretty. I like it in the show, and I like seeing elements, especially water, moving around in unnatural "magic" ways like that, even in amateur drawings and crummy 3D Windows 98-esque graphics (like that music program with the self playing organ-esque string instrument in the garden... what was that?)

And I myself have watched stupid, thoughtless things, such as the Bratz movie, so I understand the inexplicable "this entertains me and I enjoy it on some level" thing. So I get that I don't get why the secret poster likes it. You know?
