I went hungry for about a week. I had very little food left and no cash (and no friends), and my sister (who lived far away) wouldn't go to the bank to transfer money to my account. I rationed what I had, and the last day ended up begging one of the cafeteria workers for any leftovers so I could not fail the exam I had that afternoon.

I have also lived without heat in winter for months at a time because of shitty landlords.
