The top is busted... it won't close correctly and therefore won't read any disc. Luckily, it works if I pile some heavy stuff on top and weigh it down.

I just realized how spoiled I am with modern games, though - the camera work and controls in Silent Hill games are complete shit.

I get the feeling that while Silent Hill 2 had the better story, Silent Hill 3 is going to be a lot scarier.

At least it's usable? You might be able to find one on Ebay for cheap if you're interested, but if I were you I'd use it until it kicked the bucket. /frugal

You'll get no argument from me. I hated the controls in those games something fierce. Like, not only was I scared shitless, but the controls combined with the ineffective weapons and lack of ammo always made me dread fighting enemies.

Well...the bit I played of it will forever be stuck in my memory, so I guess that's a yes.
