but is it good or not good? Art looks okay, although I'm a bit kneejerk :| that a man is the most important figure in the world - but then I'm sure if it was reversed and it was 1 female the entire story would be D: rapetime

To be honest, I hadn't recognized the art the OP used because it's a lot more pinup-y than I remembered from when I read it in 2009. My memory is pretty nostalgia colored from how literally every character except Yorick and a monkey is a woman with characterization and motivation far beyond being some dude's girlfriend, one of the Heroic Trio at the core of the story is a WOC (Agent 355, fucking LOVE her), the worldview is not reduced to "America is all that matters", etc.

It has good things and bad things. It passes the Bechsel test HARD, and sometimes beautifully. It addresses the fate of transmen (they aren't killed in the Whatever It Was that killed all the men), but then they're treated by most characters as "not really men" and Yorick is assumed to be one at a few points and I just... wobble between "come ON now" and "well, actually, that is how most people act about it already, isn't it, GOD DEPRESSED DJBDDM".

tl;dr Nothing's perfect, but I would recommend giving it a shot. For me, even though it hits some of my buttons, the good vastly outweighs the meh.

...I'd also recommend avoiding all spoilers like the plague until you've finished. It is Very mystery-driven, cliffhangers, etc. And to some extent, Everyone Can Die.
