Even if it's not the most awful movie ever made, it still hurts given that I know a Green Lantern movie could have been so much better.

I'm the anon from above, and this is one of the main reasons I flip-flop about it. I remember watching it in the theater (the only time I saw it) and seeing little shades of the much better movie GL could have been among all the mess, like in the scenes on Oa. If those had had a lot more screentime and there'd been a lot less stuff on Earth, the film probably would have been infinitely better.
