So I've never watched Teen Wolf, but I was curious about their whole "Sterek OTP!"/"we're multishipping" fandom thing, so I decided to go on tumblr and look through different pairing tags. Out of curiosity, see.

Long story short, I am now shipping Derek/Scott hard. Which is kind of breaking my heart because there's not that much available.

So, what about anyone else? Did any of you guys have a ship sneak up on you and leave you wondering what the hell happened?

Does anyone else ship Scott/Derek?

In the past three weeks I've become obsessed with Harry Styles/Nick Grimshaw. I've been in 1D fandom for a few months and have known about their friendship, but recently I just kind of started shipping them hard all of the sudden from watching a video of them and now I'm really sucked into it. I don't know why I just started shipping it now, when I've know about them being friends for a few months.

I'm not a Derek/Scott shipper, but I see the appeal and I'm surprised that it's not one of the more popular pairings. I love Sterek and all and I'm not surprised that it's a well-liked ship, but it being so popular that it's 90% of the fanworks is still confusing to me.

Yeah, Sterek would probably have been popular in any case, but the way it's popular is a little staggering. I'm actually a little curious about what will happen as the show goes on. I think it's likely that the shipping will expand, unless Jeff Davis actually goes through making Sterek canon. In which case, who knows.

Also, I get shipping things when you see a video for them.

Rachel/Louis from Suits took me totally by surprise. Also, even though I haven't actually watched the series in ages, I've been thinking a lot about Marla/Catherine from The Cut lately, and I never shipped them before.

I totally feel your pain on the Teen Wolf thing, though. Scott/Stiles is my OTP, and there's next to nothing for them.

(Also, if I may step into crossover platonic territory for a moment, it hit me earlier today that Phil Coulson and Greg Lestrade would be the best of buddies.)

Crossover ships are both incredibly fun and frustrating because the chances of finding fic for them is...not that great.

And I actually kind of ship Scott/Stiles, too! Not as much as Derek/Scott, but right now I'm going through the tag on AO3. And am really fighting the urge to fill a Scott + Stiles kid!fic about their adventures at the kink meme. (It's a gen fic despite being at the kink meme).

I don't ship Scott/Derek (because wow, Scott is such an unsympathetic protagonist to me), but I ship Danny/Jackson/Stiles in any combination, so I feel your pain.

Danny/Jackson seems like it should be bigger than it is. Come on, they're awesome BFF's! I'll probably ship them when I actually watch the show and understand Jackson's character.

Troy/Abed. I am not a shipper at all, but. . .BOOM now I am.

I haven't even seen Community but seeing some of the adorable Troy/Abed squee on this comm has made me very, very curious to check it out. So partly shipping via comm osmosis at this point?

Three episodes into Teen Wolf now, and yeah, I'm already shipping Derek/Scott. That fight in the house? After I'm done watching both seasons, if I find there's no AU fic wherein they wind up doing it on the floor, then by god I'll have to write it myself.

Thor/Steve (Avengers) caught me hook, line, and sinker thanks to a convo in this comm. Oh, and Kaldur/Anyone (Young Justice); I certainly didn't intend to fall so hard for one of the least popular members of the original team.

Fury/Coulson from Avengers. I have no idea how, because it didn't occur to me consciously when I was watching, but by the time I first saw it mentioned, I realized I had already been subconsciously shipping it somehow for ages. I think it's some kind of subliminal message, what with their dynamic just kinda fitting into certain tropey relationship types that pop up all over in media except that in their case very little attention is drawn to it, but mostly it's just a case of BUT OMG WHAT IF????

(No one will ever convince me Frozone and Nick Fury aren't related, by the way. Just sayin'.)

I accidentally started shipping two members of All Time Low during a Creative Writing session. I had no inspiration whatsoever for a story, and all of a sudden I started writing Alex/Jack fic without even knowing there was a fandom. Imagine my happiness when I found out there was one :D

I may have at one time stumbled into Panic! Bandom and fell hard for Brendon/Spencer. I didn't even know who those people were, not even any info of the band really, but for awhile there I devoured fic for the pairing and was a hardcore shipper.

I ship Lydia/Jackson but there are so few fics about them, it makes me sad. And then I feel guilty because I ship Lydia with a douchebag.

I have one ship that really came out of nowhere, and I'm kinda embarrassed by it, so I'm just... not gonna broadcast it here.

Lydia is just as big of an asshole as Jackson is. They fit together.

You have no idea. Now that I'm into the Homestuck fandom, I'm having crossover ships between them and the Touhou cast (which is 99% full of girls BTW) and most of these ships literally came out of nowhere and in the most unexpected of times. The absolute worst thing is that there is almost no fanfic or fanart of them together and that I have to make some of them myself to contribute to the pool, which is not so bad if it weren't for the fact that exams are coming and I really need to study.

*waits patiently for new entries on Tumblr*

Honestly, I love that they are. I just got caught up in their story lines and interactions and fell madly in love them all. I mean, I can go with what happens in film and television and enjoy it, but very rarely do I end up shipping anything. So, when I get taken surprise by a ship, I fall pretty hard for them.

....Probably Tali/Vega (Mass Effect). That was a while ago, but then a kinkmeme minifill happened very recently and I love them all over again. XD

I think I've managed to accidentally start shipping Natasha/Steve (remind me to get an Avengers icon for my DW account, btw)... It all started with the kinkmeme. I saw an interesting prompt for them, and it lodged in my head. I decided, "Well, I don't ship them, but I don't object to them either, and I like the scenario, so sure," and wrote it. Then the same thing happened again with a different prompt. I think I kinda ship them now.

Alexis/Ryan from "Castle." The age difference really put me off for a long time, but for some reason, I'm kind of okay with it now? I haven't quite worked up the courage to go in search of fic, though. As far as popularity goes, I'd say it's second to a tie between Ryan/Esposito and Castle/Beckett, which means there's ample opportunity for very badly written fic.

Regarding Teen Wolf, I can see the Scott/Derek potential *far more* than I can see any Stiles/Derek potential, but I'm not actively shipping it (yet).
