I actually really liked Chris' lyrics. I was worried that his songs wouldn't be good because he's not usually the songwriter, but I love them!

Thank you for that. :¬) I'm so sick of reading comments about how it was a mistake to put them on the album, and how it's a sign of how much Muse have gone down the toilet that they decided "to put two mediocre songs" by Chris on the album. I hate the inferences that (a) Chris's songs are mediocre when they're not, and (b) Liquid State and Save Me are there to make the other songs look better in comparison.

Most of the people in Muse fandom I know love at least one of them, so this is surprising to me. I was really hesitant for him to sing on the album, but when I heard the songs I thought they were great, especially "Save Me". Were you reading the .mu forums? They are always so negative there, I stay away from that place.

Not OP, but Save Me totally gave me chills. It felt very dreamy and uplifting to me :)

.mu has actually been very positive about this album. A lot of people there like Save Me. I think it's people who are more casual Muse fans who have a more difficult time accepting Chris's songs.
