Yes, agreed. My only problem with Sunstreaker having a female hologram, and not some other character (Sideswipe, Ironhide, Wheeljack etc) is that Sunstreaker was the one that was rumoured to be gay. Gay male =/= female. Of course, that's back to human gender and sex practices stereotyping again, but while in the canon the robots may/should be genderless, it's the writers that are making them not so and the ones that are driving how they're portrayed. If that makes sense.

You're mixing Dreamwave gay Sunstreaker with IDW female Sunstreaker. Not saying you don't have a point, but IDW Sunstreaker is not necessarily gay. I'm not 100% sure IDW Transformers can be heterosexual, since until Jhaixus made Arcee female there was only one gender.

DA. Certain features do carry over between continuities, by coincidence or design. So I could see it either way. But, yes. In a genderless species that doesn't appear to have sexual relationships it is a bit hard to be gay or straight or anything in-between.
