Ahahahahaha I've definitely done this too! Like, in philosophy, I'll be taking notes and I'll think, "What if this notebook is all that some future civilization has to tell them about Plato and Aristotle... I'd better take really detailed notes so they can understand what things were like." It's definitely the way my thoughts run. Weird way to think, maybe. But you are not alone.

I do this as well! :D

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I was suddenly transported back in time with nothing but my class notes.

It helps motivate me to pay more attention, take better notes, and learn how to apply classroom concepts to real world situations.
