You're welcome! That Foreigner song is the one that more or less put me on the trail to the musical tastes I have today -- I'd heard it on the radio probably 20 years ago.

As a child the only music I was allowed to listen to was what our church produced and it was awful. Then the first time I heard music from the outside world was a cheesy country song so I assumed I wasn't missing much.

And then one day... I heard Freddie Mercury belting out Mr. Bad Guy. And I lost my goddamned mind and spent a week glued to the computer trying to listen to everything and I haven't gone a day without an almost continuous musical fix since. :D

I more or less get my musical tastes from my dad, though for some reason he seems to hate all that old stuff now. Probably because I like it. He's like... 12. Forever.

So what does your dad listen to now?

I'm kind of like that with my siblings. Every time they get into a new musical genre or band they got from me and want to talk about it I'm a little like, "that's so last week, ugh!" :)

I don't think he listens to much of anything. As he's gotten older he's rejected more and more stuff he used to enjoy as 'stupid.' I'd say he's turning into an ascetic but I think he's just turning into a grumpy old asshole.
