YEP.

The thing is Community is so into subverting and playing with tropes, that a small part of me clings to the hope that they might get together because turning a bromance into a real romantic would definitely be trope subvert-y. But of course, it's not actually going to happen.

Yes! I thought of that too! They wouldn't even change their relationship, it'd just be them being their typical selves with more sex/kissing, which would really drive the whole bromance/romance thing home.

+1 on this! I agree Community is so self aware that that would make complete sense but also. . .it's not going to happen :(

I had this thought too, but they're to the point where they're pretty much shoving it in audience face that "yes we know they seem gay and would be in a relationship but nope! ha ha ha!". ...or maybe that's just bitter old me.

I'm a little worried that with all the upheaval with everyone being convinced season four is going to suck/be different that the writers are going to be less inclined to push and play with expectations.

Agreed. I never really thought the bromance --> romance thing was going to happen, but I'm even more positive it won't without DH at the helm.
