IDK about the porn and shirtless celebrities (neither of those things interest me), but I'm asexual and I don't see how that makes it "wrong" for me to like shipping. Sometimes people ship just because they think the characters have an interesting/cute relationship (or if you're talking about a crack pairing, because they think the characters could potentially have a interesting/cute relationship). And this isn't just an asexual thing; lots of non-asexuals like shipping for that reason.

Shipping =/= porn.

yeah same. nothing wrong with liking a dynamic between characters.

and as far reading fic with sex in it or w/e: i might have no interest in it, but it doesn't mean i can't enjoy reading about two people who do, and reading about how it makes them happy makes me happy. though it depends on how it's presented. for example i'm not fond of pwps and i just end up skimming through those (why do i bother sometimes anyways? i'll take what i can get, for my current ships. if the fandom's more active i tend to skip them entirely, though).

maybe what i should say is that i enjoy sex in stories when it makes me go "oh i'm so happy for you two :')" rather than when its purpose is to make me go "hnng" (cause it never will, no matter how well it's written)
