Re: /is being used
Something I've seen suggested before it, write it down. Sit down and write how you'd like the conversation to go, what you want to say, what point you want to get across. That way you can kind of work out your feelings and make sure you're saying what you want to say.

That is most likely the case. I don't think they would do it intentionally, but knowing that doesn't stop it from hurting.
And this is excellent advice, so thank you for that. Actually, this probably should've been the first thing I thought to do, but it wasn't. I fear I'll sound stilted no matter what, but at least this way I might be able to articulate what I'm feeling.
