No, it make sense. To be fair, OP said they personally couldn't get into the canon after multiple tries, not that the fandom was objectively better, it doesn't strike me as bragging, just a confession. Maybe they would like it if they tried harder, but as someone who's slogged through a good chunk of things I hate, hoping in vain that I would like it, sometimes it's not only not worth it, but it can ruin any enjoyment of the pretty you had before. As long as they aren't clogging up the pipes with ignorant fanfiction and barging into fandom discussions with nothing to add but hate, it seems like no harm done, to me.
