I'm really craving post-breakup Klaine fic that actually doesn't turn into Kurt begging Blaine to take him back--which I'm sure will happen in the show anyway so bleh--and actually makes Blaine realize that he has some problems and needs to work his shit out. Possibly because Kurt pointed all of this out like he ought to have.

Cue idk actual fic that just shows Blaine in therapy or some crap for his histrionic personality disorder or whatever issue the fic writer thinks fits best and turning into the nice guy the writers of the show say he is.

So basically, years later, he and Kurt meet up again and MAYBE get back together. Or maybe just hang out and realize it was all for the best and they can be best friends.

But no one in the fandom would write anything in which Blaine doesn't look like an angel. Unless they're specifically going to bash the hell out of him.

i remember when i was in the glee fandom the sort of folks i'd follow or talk to on tumblr about it were of the mind that blaine would probably be the one dying to get back together, or less able to cope (something about blaine beeing seemingly less independent than kurt?). you get different interpretations in different circles, i suppose.

your last paragraph's totally spot on though, his treatment's always one extreme or another. i wonder if people are sometimes extra-sensitive to give him faults given the bashing that goes on in other sects of fandom, but i know a lot of it could just be because a lot of folks are really enamoured by blaine (or darren).

i always liked reading fics or analysis that focused on blaine's shortcomings, though (and not the kind that came from those who hated the guy). i felt like a lot of meta written on him tended to be largely apologetic, idk (which i understand, but y'know)
