Why do people hate this movie, exactly? I thought it was "meh", but I didn't hate it.

I, for example, hate Mycroft's portrayal. I had to realize that a "broken Mycroft" makes me deeply uncomfortable. (And Moriarty was laughable too.)

As far as I can remember his characterization, given the right timeframe and circumstances, he could be a "geeky stempunk fan at a convention".

I thought he was a lot better than any of the portrayals from the last few years. I thought Jude Law should have ended his Sherlock affiliation in 1991, Martin Freeman is ok if you can stand to see the stories contemporised, which I can't, and Joan Watson makes me ill. David Burke was the best, though.
