So there's an excellent portrayal of platonic companionship in a game and you want porn of it. Sigh.

There's a lot to be left to the imagination in this game, and the companions in the game could easily be interpreted as a symbol for romantic partners.

First of all, you cannot get a companion from the very beginning of the game, just like you don't date as a kid. Some people spend the entire game alone, by choice (logging out of the PSN) or by chance, some people spend the entire game with the same companion, some people run into a few companions before they find out they end the game with, a lot of people lose their companions in the final stage (a bright light in the background that swallows the bright light that typically indicate the location of your companion, in a stage that moves relatively fast, are the perfect recipe to lose a companion), etc.

It's all very similar to the way romantic relationships work, even more so than friendships.

I can see this :) Also, it is apparent from the final mural in the ice cave that the journeyer you play as is not the only one. Perhaps some companions are platonic, some are not?
