but the show doesn't really portray it as okay. there have been several instances where Dipper's blind love for Wendy has had some pretty bad consequences (in one case, it led to Mabel being unable to win Waddles and she becomes so miserable that she bangs her head against a totem pole for a month straight until they go back in time to reverse it and in another case, he accidentally attracts the attention of the Summerween monster who threatens to kill them because Dipper dissed the holiday to seem cool to Wendy)

But Dipper never really learns his lesson. He keeps doing it. He was willing to let Mabel and her friends die just so he could hang out with Wendy. It's really not doing his character any favors.
