Anybody ever have a spike in appetite for no apparent reason? For the past couple of days I feel like I have to eat more to feel satisfied.

The only things I can think of that are doing this is a.) coming off of being sick, b.) my period is next week, and c.) it's cold. I have no idea if those are actually things that can contribute to a spike in anything, but that's what I'm guessing.

Any help/explanations? Normally I have no problem mentally slapping my wrists and telling myself to not take a 3rd cookie, but recently I'm just like, "Nom, eat all the things."

Coming off being sick and having an upcoming period could definitely do it. My hunger spikes ridiculously when I'm on my period - probably because I'm losing so much iron or something. Also if you didn't eat as much when you were sick, your body may need to take up more nutrients to compensate?

Lolololool. My computer does this unfortunate thing where if I hit reply in a comment thread, but change my mind and go to reply elsewhere, it keeps the original comment title. The second I posted it I was like nuuuuu but ah well, live and let live haha.

Idk, when I'm on my period I get super hungry. Like raiding the kitchen at least three times a day. So that could be it?

When I'm sick (especially with stomach flu), I normally can't eat anything.
So then the following day I'll start feeling super hungry, because my body's saying "I NEED FUEL TO RECOVER, BITCH. FEED ME!"

Eat some healthy food, maybe steam-cook some veggies and meat, and drink plenty of water. :)

...I read that as "steam cock". I don't know what's wrong with me tonight. :X

Pretty much what everybody else above me said, but with an addendum: The cold also makes you eat more. Your body needs more energy to stay warm. If you're anaemic and/or underweight (I have been), you tend to be more affected by the cold and perceive it as harsher than it actually is. So basically all three factors that usually make me go on a noming rampage have decided to visit upon you. I'd suggest healthier snacks, but that's about it. You have to wait this one out.

your metabolism increases like whoa a week before your period, so I'm going with period.

I experienced a spike in appetite when it came to comfort foods a few days before my period. I was all hormonal and weepy as hell, so I ended up eating things like muffins and other baked goods along with tea/warm milk to feel better.

It's probably cause your period's due. I've been doing the same thing for the past couple of days!
