True, but I'm not going to shit all over someone's happiness just because I don't care about what they like. Sure, I'm highly opinionated, which makes it hard to bite my tongue at times, but I figure if people -especially my friends- are going to let me indulge in my fannish interests, I ought to extend the same courtesy to others.

Exactly. If everyone just extended some basic manners, we'd be fine. You could just say "Hey, I know you're really excited about it but it's not really my bag, could we talk about something else?" when it got to be too much and the friends in question could go "Hey, sorry about that. I got all pumped up. So, what are you into right now?' and everyone would be happy.

Magical, isn't it?

(also, never has a red lantern icon been more appropriate. lol)
