I don't think it happened, but I guess that's because they were so different, and different types of media? But I did think that having two Sherlock Holmes projects at the same time was a bit much. Now there's a third one. I'm just waiting for the Sherlock cartoon and manga. Oh wait, there's already Detective Conan. Well.

well sure, but elementary and the bbc version are pretty different too. as are, for example, house and sherlock, which also did not cause a crippling wanktastrophe.

i think it's funny how people still bicker over any sherlock holmes adaptation, really. it's got to be one of the oldest fandoms alive and people are still fighting about it.
