Poor OP didn't realize that when comics say they're going to be dark and edgy, what they really mean is "every character is going to be a great big bag of dicks." :(

Ultimate universe "dark and edgy" translates to "Lets turn every character into a heartless bastard/the worst trope you could apply to them then make them do horrible things to each other instead of the bad guys". Though, to be fair, the horrible things to each other instead of the bad guys part stands in the regular universe too. >.>

Also, kind of wondering where you got genderbending from that cover? You'd have better luck in the 616 continuity is you want Loki in a female body. Granted it's Sif's but still.

Well, Lady Loki is canon in the main Marvel universe... maybe OP was hoping for a similar storyline?

Ah, okay, my bad. I don't know Marvel at all.

Some gender ambiguity would be nice. The cover gave a delightful possiblility of a Loki that was comfortable with femininity and possible even a female form, whereas I recall 616 male!Loki disavowing his female form as soon as he'd gotten rid of it. Not that femininity = female, but blurring the gender boundaries in some shape or form WOULD BE NICE.

OP We shouldn't fucking have to live in a world where it's hilarious to even expect a reasonable level of queerness from a "comic". And it's not like I was particularly optimistic. Little bit offended and 9__9 that you and others seem to be relegating that to "fap material" as if mainstream comics aren't full of straight cis male fap material already. (But queerness is straight girl fap material for non-canonical kinkmemes amirite?) The front cover was fantastic; sadly Marvel didn't follow through with the content.

The secret specifically says "kinky genderbent AU," not simply "genderbent AU." Additionally, calling yourself shallow and writing "OMG SEXXX" to represent your reaction to the cover does not present your intentions in the best light. And gender-bending isn't necessarily "queer," anyway, unless the word you wanted was "genderqueer."

Now, if your point was that American superhero comics concentrate too much on ensuring the (heterosexual) male orgasm, then you have no disagreement from me. If, however, you claim to be arguing for greater diversity in comics when your actual complaint is that the comic in question didn't have the female orgasm in mind, then...it sounds blunt, but don't expect anyone to sympathize with you about that.

A) There's nothing about that cover that suggests there's going to be any genderbending -- unless one has incredibly stereotypical ideas of how men and women should dress. So, grats on that front!

B) The tone of your secret is "SEXYTIMES YAY," not "I wound like there to be more representation of queer individuals in comics." This comment comes across as if you're upset that people didn't share your fantasy, and now you're trying to both downplay that fantasy and shame everyone by saying, "but what I really meant was that I care about LGBTQ rights!"

You sound like one of those Sterek fans who proclaims that their ship is about gay rights, despite the fact that it involves ignoring the actual gay characters in canon.
