It's the Avengers' fault for trying to destroy the Phoenix and making it possess the five X-Men instead of Hope.

Because when it destroys not one but two planets on the way, and it's CLEARLY MAD, you rely on the prayer that maybe everything will be okay this time.

Maybe they should have listened to the people who actually had a history with the Phoenix then. All they did was push the Phoenix onto five people who had no preparation for instead of the one person who had been training all her life for it.

That's the prayer I was just talking about.

It's not like Hope would have been any less able to get the phoenix if she was in space.

If all Cap wanted to do was have Hope wait for the Phoenix on the moon, I don't think Cyclops would have objected.

Even Hope herself thought it was a good idea! But Cyclops was a better Magneto then Magneto has been for years and wasn't having it.

Eh dammit, I went searching for something but there's too many tie ins to look for it all. I'll concede the point rather then insist unsourced and turn out to be wrong.

What is true of both parties is that they had little interest in what Hope wished. But I'm more sympathetic to the man who didn't want to put earth at risk then the one who'd let it all burn just to be right.

Except Cable showed Cyclops an apocalyptic future and told him that's what would happen if he let the Avengers take Hope away.

When is Cable ever right about anything except Deadpool's choice ass?

Besides, even if that clusterfuck had to happen, that doesn't mean Cyclops was right. Just that he had to be a dick at this point in time for the best scenario.
