I don't really care what people ship, even if it's something that would be really screwed up in real life. But when people ship extremely gross things like abusive parent/child, and go around blaring about how hawt they find it and post links to their porn fanfics all over the internet without thinking about how it could disturb/offend/trigger people, and, when met with disgusted reactions, get all defensive and "I SHIP WHAT I SHIP AND IT'S HAWT SO DEAL WITH IT"... I start to go out of my way to avoid any interaction with those people.
