Yeah, but No. 6 is a really mediocre anime and the actual sci-fi elements are all underdeveloped and not particularly interesting. At least Aoi Hana is a great show overall. Plus, the animation in Aoi Hana has a lot more standouts courtesy of Hironori Tanaka: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyXU3BuN_Uc

Re: The sci-fi elements: that's mostly a case of Adaptation Decay.
And IMO, Aoi Hana's anime is not as good as the manga, so...

It still has sci-fi as its premise, which is enough to get people to watch it. But yeah, the anime is sort of a pretty cliff notes version for the light novels. From what I've heard the manga takes more time developing things.

And they're not interesting to you, you mean.
