Re: Do you ever lose respect for someone because of shipping preferences?

There's endless fucked-up ships out there but because it's fiction... I can't bring myself to care WHAT people ship. HOW they act about ships and shipping, however, can turn me off. If it's all they ever post about? Then yeah I'll unfollow them if it's a pairing I don't care for, but I'm not sure I'd 'lose respect' for them.

If, however, it's something like this: recently in my fandom there was a romance survey - it's, commonly known that a couple of canonically-possible pairings got really screwed over in the end. One of the questions about one of the 'screwed-over' pairings was kind of badly worded so when the results came out those fans blamed the fans of [really popular pairing] for the skewed results. Really, it was 1) a stupid thing to get mad about anyway and 2) kinda bullshit to blame ONE TYPE OF SHIPPER especially when, how much did that survey matter in the end anyway? Zilch.

tl;dr the way people can act in shipping wars can make me lose respect for them in seconds.
