Just think though...in that one episode of MLP:FiM, it has the exact opposite message. Despite refusing to like PinkiePie no matter how hard she tried, he does eventually in the end.

When you're a kid in school (especially if you're still under 10) you don't have much choice of who to hang around with, I guess. As you get older you have more freedom to only associate with people you like.
