alt hip hop/rap recs?

hello! I've been listening to a lot of Childish Gambino lately, and was wondering if anyone had some recs for any music that's similar to his? ie alternative hip hop I guess. I've heard of Frank Ocean and apparently he's pretty good and in the similar vein, so I might listen to him too, but any other recs would be cool too. thanks!

also, completely unrelated, but I just got a coffee in a takeaway cup and my cat was terrified of it. She was sniffing and looking interested when I got it so I moved it towards her and she ran away in fear.
...I really don't understand her sometimes.

Have you tried Sweatshop Union? I am horrible at categorizing music, but I think it might qualify as alt hip hop.

ever listened to lupe fiasco? he's one of my faves. cyne is pretty good too.

most of the other hip hop i listen to is instrumental. if you're into people like nujabes, this guy has a really good collection going on. you're bound to find something you like.

seconded on lupe fiasco. also, tiny tempah and chiddy bang.

in terms of clever lyrics bo burnham is hugely offensive but definitely has a way with puns

I also highly rec Lupe Fiasco. If you haven't heard of them, give the Flobots a listen to. I really like their stuff.

Very late, but yeeeeeeeeey Childish Gambino! Frank Ocean is amazing and I'm in love with him, so I definitely reccommend him! As for other alt-hip hop artists, I'm also a big fan of The Weeknd, his stuff is really dark and kind of scary, but also really beautiful. Azealia Banks is a lot of fun and her flow is really unique and cool.
