You've been all over this thread saying that you think highly of him because of the way he appeared, for that reason alone. I wasn't particularly referring to physical appearance. Forgive us for getting the impression that your standards are such that a politican can say whatever, no matter how bad or untrue, as long as they look "cool" and "composed" while doing it (or if you don't like their opponent), and you'll like them just for that.

I didn't say I thought highly of him; you're putting words in my mouth. I said I ended up liking him because how he was able to keep a cool, professional demeanor, and it was sweet how he interacted with his kids. That doesn't mean I agree with his views; I always give credit to those who can keep calm and professional when it is very difficult to do so, as it is a skill I sorely lack. I can have a less-than-charitable view of his policies, but that doesn't mean I have to hate every aspect of him. People are a lot more complicated than that, and to shove them into boxes does a disservice to both the individual and the one making the judgment.

Honestly? I don't care what you personally think of my standards, whatever you perceive them to be. I just saw you putting words in my mouth and wanted to set the record straight.
