I'm not in the fandom so I haven't heard this theory. IA it's dumb but I doubt they'll do it.

OT: Captain Hook is a hottie.

I wouldn't leave the show, but I wouldn't like that either. I don't want Bael to be Henry's father.

I don't get why everyone thinks everything has to be connected like that (w/ regards to Henry's father). I've seen theories that August is his dad. WTF, people. What are the odds that one of TWO people in the entire fucking WORLD connected with this whole mess are Henry's father? Hint: the answer is 'astronomical'. Can we not just be satisfied that Henry's existence the result of a troubled teenager making bad decisions? Is it not conspiracyish enough that clearly she was being kept tabs on enough that an adoption was arranged to get Henry into Regina's hands?

I will never understand why people do this.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-14 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Why? Because its from the creators of Lost. Everything is connected.

I had thought August was Henry's dad, at first, only because he rode into town just when Emma was discussing Henry's dad, but as it went on, and I figured out August's identity, I didn't think so anymore. What's really the basis for Bael being Henry's dad, though? o.O

[personal profile] agnes_bean 2012-10-15 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Well, the writers have said they know who Henry's father is and they have a plan for the character, so while it's possible he'll just be some random dude who shows up at some point, it's not crazy to think he's somehow connected to the larger myth arc.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-14 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm actually pulling for him to be Peter Pan to match Captain Hook.

Though I would like to know what the hell happened to Baelfire when he went through his portal and where he ended up (for all we know, now that I think about it, he could be Bae's son!)

And unless they go back and say Emma lied about Henry's father dying in the fire, or that she was mislead/misinformed, I personally believe he was 'normal' and died in the house fire Emma mentioned (and implied he started).

(Anonymous) 2012-10-15 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
I got the impression that Henry's birth father was a terrible person and Emma lied about his death so that she wouldn't disenchant Henry's view of his birth parents. To Emma, the man is dead because she never intends to let hi know of Henry's existence.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-14 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
it's a bit early to leave the fandom when you don't even know much about teh character, no?

and i don't know what fandom you've been in, but i've seen PLENTY of other theories. (That Mr Mysterious is the Wizard of Oz, for example, or the White Rabbit.)

(Anonymous) 2012-10-14 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't get this idiocy either. EVERYTHING points to Rumplestiltskin being old even by Enchanted standards. He didn't garner his rep and power in one generation. Things point to him being the reason that Regina's mother gathered the powers she had.

Bae should be old, if he's still alive, unless they want to try and get the fans to believe that the Curse was designed to sinc up the worlds or somesuch.

I get the wanting to leave, OP. Why stick with a fandom that is going to bring you distress/disappointment and frustration?

the curse

(Anonymous) 2012-10-15 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
"the Curse was designed to sync up the worlds--" that's exactly what the curse was designed to do. Rumpelstiltskin made the curse to follow Bae, and said as much to August, with the whole "cross the void of time and space" speech. Bae could be Henry's father, or not, but he's almost certainly still alive, somewhere, unless the writers are going for a storyline where Rumpelstiltskin's calculations were off and all his planning and screwing people over for centuries was for nothing.

I would be so down for that storyline.

[personal profile] vestigialwords 2012-10-15 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
*shrug* Yeah, with what we have so far, that's the obvious (predictable, contrived, etc.) answer. I have a feeling that all of this "HE IS BAE OMG" is exactly what the writers want the fandom to be doing, but I also can't help feeling this was going to be either a huge red herring (like August was), or to be correct, but in some way that's actually shocking.
