I actually did get hit once and exactly once, and it was because I hit my mom -- she slapped me back instantly, and that was the end of it forever. So I agree there are some instances in which it could be warranted. However, let's be real, it depends entirely on the individual child and parent and their relationship. There are some cases where that will work, and some cases where it absolutely will not.

Exactly. Hitting children or anyone else in anger is never okay, but using corporal punishment on kids doesn't have to be abuse and not all parents who use corporal punishment on their kids are bad parents.
