(Anonymous) 2012-10-17 10:19 am (UTC)(link)On a side note, not necessarily addressed to the OP: The Doctor strikes me as one of those highly intelligent personalities who only take an interest in things that strike them in the right way. He may pick 'average' people on a whim, but to be honest I find him (in all his incarnations) to be a bit discriminating and condescending though I still love the show.
Maybe it's because I'm currently surrounded by intellectual snobs at my uni, but that seems more plausible to me than him being a nice giving person. Honestly I think he lives more to entertain himself and if he messes something up along the way then he's all burdened with responsibility to fix it. Sorry, OP not trying to dampen your enthusiasm or anything.
