Hell, I even could see this pairing happening (In fanon, obviously)

I just don't get it when he's written as being exclusively homosexual

All that creepy flirting with the woman who gave him gum didn't set you off?

I could even see him as being pansexual, after all, he is supposedly Mr Sex

I think it's supposed to be Sebastian Moran whoose from the books but not the show. Don't know if your familiar with the books but he's basically Moriartys right hand man. Or, if you prefer, his John.

It amuses me (in a good way) that one of the more popular pairings in the BBC Sherlock fandom involves a character who hasn't shown up or even been named.

There also seems to be a huge amount of fanon built up around Moran. I'm dying to see what kind of fallout there is if the character is actually cast/appears on the show.

If it wasn't for the white text I'd doubt the fandom allocation.

As it is, I accept it's Sherlock, I have very little idea what it's about, and I'm beginning to hope it's not praising the Sherlock!faithfulness of the image

I think most of what Jim has done that looks like expressing any kind of sexuality is just being creepy or using people to get what he wants. I don't think he's done anything that shows/indicates his true sexuality.

If Jim is even capable of seeing people as more than fun toys to play with, then yeah, I totally buy him being attracted to men and women. But I think he'd just use most people, regardless of gender or orientation, for sexual gratification and emotional manipulation. It's Sherlock he plays the mind games with and gets the most out of.

And him and Moran ... I have such a soft spot for those two in my little twisted shipper heart. Have you read Professor Moriarty: The Hound of the D'Urbervilles? It's amazingly well written and has all kinds of Moran snarking and ship teasing. And they go watch prostitutes wrestle in jello (offscreen, but still, WOW.)

I wouldn't always interpret flirting as genuine everyday sexual attraction, if I were you. He always gives off an exceedingly creepy vibe, and certainly in a skeevy 'sex is power' kind of way. :c
