Is it weird?

I don't like having my picture taken. I think part of it stems from my mom who disliked have her picture taken. The only time I sort of allow it if it's a con a group picture or those professional picture and big parties.

I think part of it stems from my on self image and the constant back handed compliments from my grand mother about how pretty I was...if I lost more weight. Doesn't help my mother keeps pointing out my weight problem knowing I trying to lose weight. Since I'm stressed b/c of her health and my own depression makes me feels worse than I already am.

Yet, even when I am feel okay with myself and my weight, I tend to avoid having my picture taken. I literally duck if a camera is pointed my way, I have a very camera happy friend, or find the nearest object to cover my face with. It's one reason I tend to carry around a little fan with me. Is it weird that I dislike having my picture taken that much?

(My camera happy friend hates when I duck out, but to be fair when she says 'just one picture' she takes 10-15. Also, she has an addicted to taking of everything....Really)

Not really - most of the people I know are totally not up for being in photos. Like...if there's a call for a group photo a number of us will jostle to be the photographer to get out of being in it.

I don't think it's weird, I had a friend at school who really hated having her picture taken even in group shots, so if we were on a trip somewhere and were taking photos she would agree to one and then she'd duck out of all the rest. No one minded though because we understood that it was something she didn't like doing and we've all got something that we're not keen on.

Not for looks reasons but I'm not a fan of having my picture taken either because I am the most un-photogenic person in the world. It doesn't matter what time of day it is or where it is the camera will always get me in the middle of talking or doing something that has me pulling the most dumbass expression in the world. Also not a fan of staged 'everyone stand here and smile' photographs because they're awkward as hell and my smile always ends up looking forced and even more horrible than my usual derp faced pictures.

I hate getting my picture taken, and I don't even think I'm ugly or anything. Even when I think I look good on a given day, 99% of the time I hate how I look in a picture. I'm just the opposite of photogenic I guess.
