Don't forget that in the troll version one party is dangerously violent. People keep forgetting that part.

No, I remember. And I enjoy that sort of dynamic in shipping too. But that does seem to be kind of like the ideal fairy tale-type of moirallegiance. Yeah, every relatively calm troll probably dreams of the day they can find a bloodthirsty nut job to pap on the face and keep from murdering everyone in a five mile radius. But as we see with Nepeta and Equius, there's a lot more give-and-take between two parties, and on a day-to-day basis it's mostly about having someone to keep you in check and look out for you when you don't know how to do it yourself.

(Besides, since I'm not a troll, I obviously don't have to worry about that.)
