(Anonymous) 2012-10-18 03:35 am (UTC)(link)I agree that there's nothing wrong with having a preference but I find an explicit preference based solely on racial appearance to be a bit questioning personally. Like if you can't possibly imagine yourself falling in love with someone who isn't white then I'd think that was a bit...I don't know. I definitely wouldn't think that you were a racist. I'd think that you really haven't been super exposed to people outside of your own race (which also isn't necessarily a bad thing).
If I were to ask you to imagine your dream spouse (personality, sense of humor, intelligence, everything except racial appearance) and then asked you to imagine him/her as a race other than white, would he/she not be your dream person anymore? Even if he/she was assimilated into your culture and conventionally attractive?
