He's a fantastically flawed character and I love him. Not big on his brother, but I don't think Merle was meant to be sympathetic, even after being left to die. Daryl is a good person inside; he just never had the opportunity to exercise it, I think.

And yes, it does help that Norman Reedus is a gorgeous man.

Man, the season premier was awesome. I am so looking forward to this season.

Daryl is awesome, but I've never had a moment where I was like "Yep. That dude's hot and I totally want him." He's, like, the rare person I'd have a non-sexual crush on.

Yeah... I realized like five minutes after posting it that that wasn't really what I meant. Just needed something to stick on the end. It came to mind though because the beginning of the comic (and the first two seasons of the tv show) are full of sexist characters doing sexist things and being generally sexist (and racist) and not really getting called out on it by the author I felt kind of like I shouldn't like the show on feminist grounds. It isn't that bad, just kind of irksome once you start over thinking it. Which is why this was a "secret", I'm usually extremely calm collected and was under the impression I was sort of past such strong fandom crushes.
Anyway, Michonne has finally arrived and Andrea has maybe stopped being so bitchy so things are looking up and I might get to feel less guilty about liking this show ^^

I've been a Reedus fan for a long time and only watch the show for him. Ironically it's this role and his subsequent fame that have changed how I look at him. I like Daryl a lot more than Norm these days.
