That's my unrealistic dream too. I love Jan and if I could just have her and not Hank, that'd be great. I'd love for there to be more women in the Avengers movies (though I do think it's cool that Whedon included Maria Hill)and Jan's my favorite. But, she comes with Hank and a) there's plenty of men on the team and b) we've already got a whole science bros thing going on. I don't need another added.

See, I was thinking Hank could just be Jan's equivalent of fandom!Pepper or something -- always around and involved, but not actually a superhero. But yeah, total pipe dream :(

You're right that would be kinda hard for me after reading so many comics to wrap my mind around Jan-without-Hank, 'cause they're such a package-deal type, but it wouldn't be impossible to do it in such a way that at least the non-comics-readers would love it and not find it weird. Bigger divergences have been made already, and IMO they all work.
