I have a six-year-old laptop. I think when I got this laptop, the CPU was one of the best at the time (but not the best), the RAM was upgraded (but not maxed out) and the graphics card was switched to a dedicated graphics card (average card but top upgrade possible). When I install new games, it is the graphics card +/or RAM that limits what games I can play, not the CPU. When I install new programs, it usually recommends more RAM than I have. The programs that require more RAM lag when I run it with other programs.

I think graphics might be a better investment if you're going to be gaming.

Ah, so the CPU isn't necessarily as important a factor as the graphics or RAM when it comes to games; I was fretting about that. Thank you, that's very good to know.
