Oops, I meant to write "I don't think that the comparison between Billy and Teddy was there to show how much better Billy has it, and how he should always be happy for it."

Also, I wouldn't say Teddy going around being a superhero is exactly 'cheating' on Billy. AIt's not like he has to stay at home and do nothing just because Billy does it. And are you telling me you never had any conflict with anyone you know? Really? I find it extremely hard to believe.

Have you read JiM? It's not conrived at all. That's what Kid Loki does.

Well, tough for you, I guess. Comic book teams roster rarely stays the same forever. And who knows? Maybe you'll grow to like and care about Noh-Varr, Miss America and Loki?

Ohhh, that makes a lot more sense, lol. But that's what the team seem to be doing? Especially with the promo thing for the new run, which is all "Billy thinks he's lost everything, Teddy has actually lost everything" bullshit. :\

Oh, no, I didn't say it was like cheating. I was saying that's the comparison the new writer in charge of YA used - that Billy felt like he was being cheated on, or something.

And yes, I've had conflict with people I know. But no, I've never had an SO sneak around behind my back and lie to me... unless it was for a secret, special surprise. Not because they're doing something they know I would be really upset if I found out about.

In the context of YA, it's really contrived.

Maybe.

Yeah, but Billy's demand seems a little unreasonable. Like I said, just because Billy does something, Teddy isn't obligated to do exactly the same thing, and just because Billy quit being a superhero, doesn't mean Teddy should, too. And it's not like they haven't talked about it, and Teddy hadn't expressed his opinions, so you can't say he didn't try. Why is this such a huge no?

And why is Loki manipulating them so contrived?

Yeah, but I still think sneaking around behind his back and lying to him about it is shitty. Much worse than making an unreasonable demand after going through all manner of hell and being seriously depressed. If Teddy were at least honest about what he was doing, I wager Billy would get over it and it'd work out. But he's sneaking around -- not unlike a guy who's cheating on his boyfriend.

I just really dislike manipulation of one person as the plot device to hook up a team. idk, it's just irritating to me.
