Not "what are Snapewives?" I know what they are. I just don't see the connection between "I don't ship this pairing, for perfectly valid reasons" and "I sound like a Snapewife."

....What did I miss? Is it just that I'm dead tired?

I didn't get it either. "My personal history with abuse has made me unable to ship a problematic pairing" doesn't seem to have anything in common with "I feel I am married to a fictional character in some weird, imaginary, 5th Dimension way."

Yup.

I ship the everloving fuck out of M/SS (or maybe that's the everhating fuck?) but the secret makes total sense to me. It's a totally reasonable and logical reason not to ship them, IMO.

The rest of it makes perfect sense. Seems pretty reasonable too.

Also, I am wondering, is this the same OP as the M/SS secret a few weeks ago? They sound kind of similar.

Maybe it's "I used to provoke my abusive dad" that OP thinks sounds crazy, and not "I don't ship M/SS"? Because "I don't ship M/SS" is... not an indicator of crazy, in any way.

But it still doesn't make the Snapewives bit make sense to me.

Wait, are you saying you DO ship them? I mean, you say 'hell no', but that's the only way the 'snapewives' thing makes sense to me. Do you mean you shouldn't ship them, because they're abusive, like Snape is to a lot of other characters, but you do it, anyway, and can't explain it without sounding bad? I DON'T UNDERSTAND!

I hear you dude. I'm dealing with a similar ship in another fandom. I've been abused by an ableist person in the past and everybody is so happy about this abuser/abused ship right now. At least your ship isn't canon.
