So anyone watching/reading anything that either has a dead/inactive fandom or maybe no fandom at all? Anything you wish you could squee with more people over?

I'm curious, most of my fandoms are big in some way or have been (and I think some big fandoms can have the gravitational pull of a black hole from which there is no escape)- but is there anything awesome out there you wish had a fandom?

Sometimes I get nostalgia attacks and I'll find a ff.net page of 2 pages if I'm lucky, the last fic being a while back. For instance, weekenders from Disney was utterly hilarious sometimes (and I watched a few episodes on youtube again) but there isn't much of a fandom for it now. Also I remember as a kid before I knew what fanfic and shipping even was I shipped Carver and Tish together.... and yet there is no fic at all for them. Not even badly written fic. WOE IS ME.

Oh man, I loved this show "Big Wolf on Campus" which was the cheesiest thing in the entire world when I was young. The episodes have been uploaded in extremely low quality to youtube, but of course there isn't really a fandom. I mean, there's more than most old shows get, if only because of the absolute massive amounts of Ho Yay, but still. I wish it were active, and that I could buy the old episodes on DVD for some hardcore nostalgia-ing.

ALSO HOMG WEEKENDERS WAS THE FUNNIEST THING ON TELEVISION.

I found those episodes on YouTube! They proceeded to eat my life for the next three weeks (exams? Pffft)
Then I looked for fandom...
So. This? I guess?

SOMEONE ELSE HAS HEARD OF/SEEN THIS BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE OF 90'S CHEESE.

Tommy Dawkins was the original angsty teen werewolf.

Actually, there's a pretty sizeable chunk of fic on AO3 and ff.net, considering how obscure the show is. Not surprisingly, it's about 99% slash, of the Tommy/Merton variety. (I mean, how could it be otherwise? There was one scene where Lori asked who Tommy's date was at prom, and the camera cut to him and Merton hugging each other- and very closely, I might add! The show hand-fed that pairing to the viewers.)

I mean:

COME ON! I wish SO bad that they would just release it on dvd, or digital download, or SOMETHING. ARGHHH TAKE MY MONEY!!

I know! I would pay all of my dollars for a proper DVD! (which is is like 20 but I maintain that it's the thought that counts)
And now I'm off to ao3 to read alllllllll the fic.

Mayhaps if TW fandom could successfully be tempted into crossing over with it, there would be much more fanwork...

Earth 2. My fervor has died down a bit since I watched a couple of months ago, but I still want to squee. The fandom is small/nonexistent, but does have some pretty good fic.

I'm forever pimping my Journeyman reviews uptop, because this is a show that NEEDS a fandom -- and if I didn't have to finish this up and race back to work, I'd expand on why -- but it only has a whopping five fics at FFN. I did, however, just discover F-yeah Journeyman on tumblr, which today alerted me to bloopers I had never seen.

I guess older Gundam and Harvest Moon! Especially Harvest Moon.

I've said this before but Drop Dead Diva. Even with all it's issues, I'd fucking love a fandom for that. Also said this before, but GEARS OF WAR! (COLE/BAIRD OTP!)

I'll add Halo (because while there are plenty of fans of it, and there's even some fic, I wouldn't call it a 'proper' fandom) and Justified.

...Okay, Uncharted too. (Would probably kill for more fic/icons/art/whatever of that series.)

Haven should have a huge fandom (so many shipping possibilities! And the case fic could be amazing)!

Oh, and Young Avengers needs a bigger fandom, as does The Authority (because I only read it a while back and it's mostly dead at this point...guess that's to be expected, though).

Continuing to pimp my favourite fantasy books then!

Doppelganger duology/Warrior and Witch by Marie Brennan need a fandom badly. There's so much meta to go over and the characters are so awesome and gahhh. It'd also inevitably be highly femslashy since there's only like, two male characters who are even remotely important and only one of them would qualify as a primary character. I have only ever found one fic for it and that makes me sad.

Kitty Norville books could also use a fandom! I have found at least one anon on here who likes them I believe, over at LJ anyway. There's like ten books out now and there is no fandom and it also makes me sad.

I've said this before, but Courtney Crumrin.

Also the "Book Girl" light novel series. (I didn't actually check if it has a fandom but I've never seen anyone even admit to reading them, let alone discussing who they ship.)

Nearly every video game I've played and loved and wanted a fandom to squee with has no fandom, or a really tiny one--Phantasy Star (original series, not the online games), a bunch of fighting games (Dead or Alive, Guilty Gear, Soul Calibur), Skies of Arcadia, Grandia II, Lost Odyssey, Parasite Eve...

That's probably way too much but fffffffffff I love the stories and characters from these games so much even though some of them can get pretty ridiculous.

So agreed about Dead or Alive. I ship the hell out of lots of pairings in that series and would love for more (decent) fic and art (that isn't just the females in swimsuits). Skies of Arcadia is my eternal love so same, and Lost Odyssey was fantastic (the parts I've played, anyway...never did quite finish it).

I shipped Carlos/Dorothy Ann from The Magic School Bus when I was a kid and I used to go to ff.net to see if anyone was posting anymore fanfic about them. :(

Well, I guess I'm lucky that it's one of the more popular ships on the site but I think I've read all the good ones that were there at the time.

I would love to talk meta about those games with someone sometime. But the fandom it barely had back in the day is pretty much dead now. :/ And all the fic is about the anime.

I used to watch the anime and none of my friends were interested in it. Being alone sucks. *hug*

Aww. *hugs* I always wanted to watch the anime but could never figure out when it was on or what channel. (Man... so weird to remember that you used to have to actually remember what time shows came on. 'xD) By the time I got Netflix which had the DVD's, the fandom was long dead. Also I was a bit old for it by then, but I'm sure I would've LOVED it if I'd found it as a young'un.

I wish Reveng had a bigger fandom.

Lord of the Flies meets X-Men, surprisingly good and really brutal for a YA novel series.
It has a fandom but they're all twelve and there is no fanwork.

Remnants and Everworld, both by K.A. Applegate. I actually really like both these series, and whenever I read parts of them immediately get cravings for fic. :(

THIS GAME. OMG. I love it and still replay it. Legend of Legaia was and is one of my favorite Playstation RPG games ever. The only other games that beat it was Tomba! or Megaman Legends. It makes me really sad to know only a handful of people actually have played this game. (It came out the year after FF7 I believe. I think it was LOADS better that FF7. I'm saying this a person that tends to love FF franchise....for the most part)

I really wish the would re-relaese for the PSN netwrok so I ca play on my PSP. I can already play Tomba! on there.
