a couple of weeks ago on F!S i said something like "androgyny creeps me out" and i got bullocked over it - i still don't understand why? i've been trying to find a way to word a secret about it so i can read some discourse...not even lying, i don't understand

Well, why does androgyny creep you out? How do you act toward androgynous people?

i just don't like the look...take the 3 humans in the picture of this secret, the 2 in black & white just look angry, and the guy in the bottom right, i don't even know what he's doing or why he's doing it

i don't act in any way differently toward androgynous looking people, i act the same i would to anyone else

but you said 'androgynous people' which makes me think it is assumed i may be talking about the people behind the look - i'm talking about the aesthetic...is it not just a 'look'? like, if i were to say 'bikies with handlebar mustaches freak me out' would i get equally bullocked?

(i'm misunderstanding the term, aren't i?)

You can just say you're not attracted to androgynous people, but I don't see why you feel the need to tell people that. I'm not attracted to football jock types, for instance, or Victoria Secret model types (and in fact find both of them pretty big turn offs lookswise), but I don't feel the need to make secrets about it or act like a special snowflake because of it, even though a huge majority of people really like those looks. And, like you, I don't treat those people better or worse. The way they look wouldn't preclude me being friends with them if we otherwise got a long. I'm just not really attracted by them.

If androgyny actually creeps you out, though, you might have deeper underlying issues you should look into. It sounds borderline with "that's unnatural" which is judgey, not true, and will get you dogpiled.

Did your family enforce rigid gender roles? I don't think it's unusual that those feelings would become ingrained. Maybe start a thread on page 2 about it (if you haven't already, I just got here and I'm catching up).
