White community college philosophy major dropouts trying to score points. See the thread about interracial relationships for a mild example.

Get out.

They're far too strongly in the continental tradition, and their arguments and rhetorical style have the hallmarks of english lit or women's studies.

Don't drop philosophy majors in this.

I think ill_omened was joking back that SJWs do not get their faux-conscientiousness about civil rights from philosophy classes, but from english lit and women's studies classes.

Which is definitely true -- most SJWs don't know the first thing about philosophy. They clearly are for the most part narrowly-educated sociology buffs so caught up in the mindblowing concept that hey, didja know that society has oppressive structures and the west isn't totally awesome, that they don't have the brainpower to absorb anything else.

Hey! They're usually sociology majors, not philosophy, okay? :P

Definitely! I know a lot about philosophy, and SJWs generally do not strike me as philosophy-versed at all. They're all about 100-level college sociology. And, perhaps, women's lit.
