But nobody in the thread is saying it never happens. They're saying it's bad to judge so quickly in the context that OP is talking about. If you chime in and say but it happens elsewhere in other contexts! it sounds like you're supporting the OP's prejudices.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree, here, anon. I'm not trying to give my opinion on the original context, nor did I; I'm complaining about a similar yet entirely distinct situation that was pinged in my mind by this thread and annoys me. If you want me to denounce the OP, fine: I don't agree with what they said and I don't support their prejudices. But frankly, this comes off as some really severe semantic nitpicking, that I said 'slightly' instead of 'vastly.'
