Most recent ridiculous nerdy undertaking of yours

For some insane reason, I have been coping with midterms this week by memorizing the lyrics to "He Mele No Lilo" from Lilo and Stitch. Despite the fact that I do not speak a word of Hawaiian.

Most of my ridiculous nerdy undertakings involve translating random things that already have official English translations. For some reason, translating things tends to put me into intense concentration mode where I refuse to eat or sleep or do homework until I'm done with whatever project I'm working on, and it's stupid because there's absolutely no need to be doing it... I don't end up posting my translations anywhere because everyone else looks at the official one, or, when that is known to be unreliable, translations from other translators who are faster and more knowledgable than me. And I could go look at the those translations, too, so I don't even need it for myself. But my pride always makes me finish my project before looking at anyone else's translation. And then I look at the real translation and then feel all embarrassed and bad because mine is always off. And then I find something else to translate and start all over again.

I cross stitch as a hobby and I'm pretty prolific. Since finishing my last cross stitch pieces, I bought a program called PC Stitch...so I could turn my favorite pieces of fanart into cross stitches and hang on my wall (or give to the original artist, I haven't decided yet.)

That's going well. :)

Many, many years ago, I cross-stitched a portrait of the Enterprise using a pattern I made myself. It remains my most nerdy undertaking.

I wrote a detailed biography for one of my fan characters that was more like a summary of the show and had my headcanons and interpretations of the other characters. It's like my official fanon version.

I swear to god I am a functioning adult, don't judge.
