(Anonymous) 2007-08-13 05:31 am (UTC)(link)I'm so tired of arguing about it. I feel that what 6A is doing is stupid and does absolutely nothing to protect real children. Especially when they're perfectly willing to let pro-ana groups and groups advocating 'bibilical methods of child-rearing' (read- beating children with sticks) continue unbothered.
Not to mention, the new clarifications seem to point to an eventual blanket rejection of ANY portrayal, fic or otherwise, of anything sexual involving anyone under the age of 18. Just to point out the ridiculousness of this-- I'm in Buffy fandom. Our canon, shown on NETWORK TELEVISION, involves an underage girl (Buffy) having sex with an older man (Angel). She was 17, yes, age of consent in California at the time. By these new policies, however, no one can write fic about something shown on network television in prime time. Fine, whatever. I've even gone so far as to go back in my LJ and remove anything that could violate this policy, stupid as it is. I just hate that they have my money, changed policies on me, and I can't get my money back. I feel cheated. I feel screwed.
